Hey guys! It is Aiko with Schwagirl. I am an American English pronunciation coach.

Welcome to my podcast “The Voice of English”

The purpose of this podcast is to encourage English learners and also English teachers. We all share tips and points of how we can improve our English and become better communicators.

In Episode 6, I invited Sakuraco from Hello & Goodbye

She is an artist who specializes in hand painted apparel items. Currently based in Washington, and originally from Kanagawa, Japan. Her passion is to create “good stuff” with her own two hands and to bring art into daily lives. It is extremely important to her that she leaves a positive impact on people, environment, and the society through her business.
Since she launched her own business, she has come to the realization of how much of opportunity being able to communicate in English provides, so she decided to help people who are willing to take advantage of that. Her way of making it  happen is by teaching English to to Japanese people through online English lesson service( DMM eikaiwa) which she deeply enjoys.

Here are some tips that she shared:

  • Practice speaking English on the topics that you are interested in.
  • Practice more discussion in an learning environment.
  • English learners should have a sense of entitlement of being able to make mistakes (this is a very helpful mindset!).

As you hear, Sakuraco and I were wondering how “Joey’s Apple” joke in “Friends” was translated into Japanese. If you know, please comment below and let us know!!
