Hey guys! It is Aiko with Schwagirl. I am an American English pronunciation coach.

Welcome to my podcast “The Voice of English”

The purpose of this podcast is to encourage English learners and also English teachers. We all share tips and points of how we can improve our English and become better communicators.

In Episode 4, I invited a podcaster / confidence building coach from California. Her name is Emiko Rasmussen from Her Confidence Her Way.

Emiko is a mom of two children, a full-time worker at a higher education organization, podcaster, and confidence building coach, bilingual MC for events in San Diego. And she does volunteering and many other things. Wow, she does so many things. I asked her not only how she practiced her English (she speaks English as a second language and speaks very fluent English), but also her working experience in the US.

If you are wanting to work in the US in an English environment (meaning local companies. Not Japanese companies in the US or so on), listen to her closely and learn the skills you will need for it. Here are the tips she mentioned:

  • Become good at self promoting.
  • Ask for help.
  • Know that “Who knows what you do” is important.
  • Take initiative.

These tips will definitely help you be able to work successfully in the US. Emiko’s social media links are as follows:
